On Monday, the Trump administration loosened Obama-era dietary regulations for school lunches. Addressing the decision, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue said, “If kids aren't eating the food, and it's ending up in the trash, they aren't getting any nutrition — thus undermining the intent of the program." The new plan will take effect in the fall, and not require schools to lower sodium, or offer all whole-wheat breads and pastas.
